My daughter, who I have humorously referred to as my “broke best friend,” has the travel bug, which my husband and I allowed to bite her at an early age. When she was in third grade, she had to read one book a week about one state of United States of America, which she was tested on. As a result, she learned historical facts about tourist sites, often telling us she wanted to visit those places.
